We all see this new technology software when we go eat at our favorite restaurant joints. We frequently notice the touch screen, square, flat monitor whenever a cashier processes our order. We usually see them appearing with lots of colors that just amaze our eyes. But, what is this high technology gadget? What is this called and how can we operate this machine? What I am discussing is what we call the restaurant pos or point of sales system. This is a networked system of computerized software of records keeping and ordering, a system that processes food orders and payments and keeps a numerical files of sales, inventory, and server transactions. Basic equipment includes a touch screen monitor, a computer, a drawer for cash, and printer for receipts. Owning a restaurant POS can improve profits by improving restaurant operations, for inventory is tracked real-time. It can also better process orders between waiters and kitchen staff for because poor handwriting is avoided.
