A Small Rant Against The Smoking Haters`

Have you ever come across those people who cough loudly when within quarter of a mile of a cigarette, who moan and make snide comments about the slightest wisp of smoke that enters their vicinity. They are also usually armed with lots of facts about the dangers and risks of smoking to you and anyone nearby you. They’ll quote figures and even sometimes medical symptoms to persuade you to stop.

In my experience these people kept me smoking for much longer than I did, just as the annoying National non smoking days did. As if we could just turn off our smoking for a day like that ! Every smoker knows the health risk, the smoking stress that is caused when we think of the risks is probably equally as harmful as the smoke itself.

If you know someone who smokes, gentle encouragement is fine, suggestion for making the quit easier great. Being understanding and thoughtful works much better than nagging and threats. Remember this every smoker wants to quit, the trick is get them into the mindset where they think they can succeed !
